Revillagigedo Project

The Revillagigedo Island chain lies hundreds of miles south of Cabo San Lucas. The islands are actually the tops of old volcanoes. These islands boast incredibly good fishing for large yellowfin tuna. The islands were closed a decade ago because of illegal activities by commercial fishermen. Unfortunately, everyone was harmed by the closure. The Association has been conducting extensive community outreach and has presented a proposal to the Mexican Government recommending they reopen the area for the benefit of Mexico. We look forward to movement in the near future to reopen this element of tourism to the area.
