About SAC

The Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) was founded in 1972 by leaders in organization speaking out on behalf of their interests. Now starting in its fourth decade, SAC has proven and will continue to prove how valuable it is to sportfishing in California. SAC is incorporated under federal law as a “non-profit business league”, known also as a 501 (c) (6) corporation, and it is operated mainly on dues from its members. Broad industry support is therefore critical.

The purpose of the Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) is to promote tourism and recreational marine activities on the pacific coast. The marine recreational industry is a tremendous economic engine for our region.
